How does our Scholarship Fund work?

Families apply for scholarships based on their individual circumstances and their need. Most of our families need scholarship support for a limited time, such as from the beginning of school until their subsidy voucher takes effect. For families applying for subsidy vouchers, there is currently a wait list in Wake County of 30,000+ children; the average wait is 10 months from time of application to approval.  

Learning Together provides approximately 10 scholarships annually, at an average amount of $250/month; an investment of $25,000 every year. 

How does your gift help?

• $50 – Covers the cost of two meals a day for one child for 2 weeks.

• $100 – Covers the cost of two meals a day for one child for 1 month.  

• $250 – Pays the scholarship cost for one child for 1 month.

• $500 - Pays the scholarship cost for one child for 2 months.
